#AZdiverse Read-a-Thon!

Good Morning Lovlies!

So I know I’ve been horribly MIA on this blog which I apologize profusely for. Grad school & work has just consumed my life lately. I have however kept up with most of my reading, so I’m hoping to catch up on reviews here as well!

With that said, Happy 4th of July weekend! I hope everyone is getting some time to relax, read and enjoy the holiday. If you don’t celebrate the holiday, I hope you still get to relax and read this weekend 🙂

That brings me to what I’m doing to celebrate this weekend: In true bookish fashion, I’m participating in a #Readathon hosted by Annika at Hiding Books and Ezrah at I Heart Romance & YA. These awesome ladies are hosting a #diversereads read-a-thon and I’m so excited to participate.

Check out Ezrah or Annika’s posts for the Rules 🙂

  1. The Boy in the Black Suit by Jason Reynolds: Follows 17-year-old Matt after the death of his mother. Matt wears a black suit every day. No, not because his mom died–although she did, and it sucks. But he wears the suit for his gig at the local funeral home…(see more on GoodReads).
  2. She is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick: Follows teenage Laureth  Peaks as she flies to New York City from London with her younger brother in order to find her father who she believes is missing. Why drag her 7-year-old brother along? Laureth is blind. Laureth Peak’s father has taught her to look for recurring events, patterns and numbers -a skill at which she’s remarkably talented. When he goes missing while researching coincidence for a new book…(see more on GoodReads).
  3. Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why by G. Willow Wilson, Adrian Alphona, & JacobWyatt. Newly formed Ms. Marvel (aka teenage Kamala) has questions about who this Inventor guy is. She meets new friends, battles some new villains and juggles school life & keeping her extracurriculars a secret from her parents. Who is the Inventor, and what does he want with the all-new Ms. Marvel and all her friends? Maybe Wolverine can help! If Kamala can stop forking about meeting her favorite super hero that is. Then, Kamala crosses paths with…(see more on GoodReads).

So my list is pretty short, but I also have to write a paper sometime this weekend too. However if I do have the time, I’ll try to squeeze another one in 😊

Are you participating in #AZdiverse read-a-thon? If so, what are you reading? If not, what are some of your favorite diverse reads?!
