Waiting on Wednesday (13): Stalking Jack the Ripper

Hello lovelies!

So I missed my post date yesterday, yikes! So sorry guys. Man and I was doing so well with my blogging streak haha. But I’m back today with another one of my favorite features: Waiting on Wednesday. Read below for what I can’t wait to get my hands on!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine, where you can highlight upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating!

What I’m waiting on:

Stalking Jack the Ripper
by Kerri Maniscalco

28962906

Synopsis (via GoodReads):Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.

Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.

336

Jimmy Patterson

$18.99 (hardcover)

  • Because of that cover! Look at my lovelies, it’s so beautiful!
  • Strong female MC going against the grain of society — yes, please!
  • I might have a slight fascination with serial killers…I’m a major fan of Criminal Minds, so I feel like the exploration of Jack the Ripper would be awesome to read about!
  • This book reminds me of the book: The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson which also takes on Jack the Ripper albeit in a different time and way. I really enjoyed reading that book and think this one will be just as satisfying.
  • Also, forensics science for the win! I actually took a forensics class in high school and loved it! I also may have grown up watching a lot of CSI… Anyway I’m interested to see how she studies the “gruesome practice of forensic medicine” in this book 🙂
